Great location

Bec

We really enjoyed our stay, the house is very spacious and in a fantastic location with the beach and national park on your doorstep. While the house was clean, it was disappointing to have to deal with a number of cockroaches during our stay. Otherwise a comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

This aptly named Beach House provided a clean and wonderfully comfortable home away from home on our road trip from Melbourne and was a convenient base from which to explore the Port Stephens area. We spent many relaxing hours on the balcony enjoying the company of kookaburras, lorikeets and pied butcher birds and being able to see the sea from where we sat. The bird-life was one aspect of the location which attracted us and did not disappoint. Being a couple on our own meant we didnt need to use the extra two bedrooms or the bungalow (in the back garden) but the living area, kitchen and large dining table provided plenty of space. We found everything we needed here for cooking and the wood fire in the lounge kept us cosy at night. The friendly IGA at Anna Bay supplied our wood and many of our meal ingredients. There are some lovely local walks close by including Boat Harbour bay itself and the nearby headland with its cairn (look out for the white-cheeked honeyeaters). We were utterly delighted by the day we spent at Stockton Dunes with its kilometres of beach to stroll along and its caf. We were privileged while there to see a black swan, red-capped dotterels and brahminy kites. A town with some buzz and a helpful Information Centre is Nelson Bay about a ten minute drive from Boat Harbour. There you can shop, eat or have coffee, explore the marina and stroll along the foreshore. The Inner Lighthouse and caf at nearby Shoal Bay is also really worth a visit. Other highlights from our visit to the Port Stephens area included discovering the glorious rock formations at Fingal Bay (we watched Humpback whales from a viewing platform at Barrys Park), walking in Tomaree National Park and watching the sun go down from the decking at the Little Beach Boathouse Restaurant.

Neglected Dirty home all round, hot, no mobile coverage. FYI.. 1 bathroom. Check with Real estate, confirm that home has been cleaned before you pay. Great location.

A Gem in NSW

This home is a little gem. Conveniently located near a quiet beach and a national park, our family had fun exploring. The beds were comfortable. The shower was good. It had good heating to keep us warm on the cold July nights. There is a Kookaburra that visits in the mornings and quite happily has its picture taken up close. We had everything we needed. Our boys enjoyed sleeping in the bunkhouse. I highly recommend this accommodation. The only downside was that our mobile phones had very poor reception but if you are looking for a place to get away from the rat race then you won't have a problem.

No value for money

Harry

The place was stinking, mainly the second shed like as if a unwashed dog was there all the time. BBQ was unusable had cockroaches nested and mold built up. Add is somewhat misleading about two bathrooms , its merely a shower area at the basement of the house. More importantly the price charged was $467 which is misleading as well as its $305 + $162 for linen hire only which is ridiculous.

unexpected surprise

This house had everything our family was looking for. Great location, great accommodation. We'll be back.
