Highpoint, 2/4 Magnus Street – two bedroom unit close to Nelson Bay CBD

I am a returning customer and have stayed at this address before. On this occasion, the experience was below par as there were multiple problems including: - very rusty microwave which we considered to be unusable -cockroach infestation originating around hot water system with cockroach droppings - toilet paper holder broken - some lounge blinds missing thereby affecting privacy -screen door on balcony did not operate -one of my sons received a reactive bite in bed needing doctor treatment

This apartment is not suitable for holiday rental. It is old, smells badly , I could not open the cupboard they really smell old. The furniture is not clean. The TV does not have private channel as described. The plates were dirty. There were many cockroaches in the kitchen as well as other insects on the wall in the bedroom. The main bed mattress is really old. The bathroom is really outdated as well.

Loved the location, could walk to markets, marina and the club.

For a two night stay, and cost of $500, the accommodation offered was very substandard. We also had to pay $30 for linen service on top of our accommodation fee. Inside the 2 bedroom, 50 style unit, paint was peeling off the bathroom ceilings. You wouldn't place any clothes in cupboards as they had very mouldy stale smells. Also, the TV and DVD remotes were useless, the screen door handle broke to balcony, the garage was only big enough for a motorbike. Overall, an appalling accommodation

We were not happy with the accommodation, the unit was not very clean and it needs a good clean up and improvement. I am sorry but definitely would not stay there again. I do not know who checks it out but it should be. We heard that there were a lot of complaints about the unit. You really should check this unit out for yourselves and see what it is like.

Having had a tough time through COVID my wife and I thought we would enjoy a cheap weekend away with our som We expected to find a property that was dated and basic. We did NOT expect to find disgusting and unsafe. There was a level of grime that was unsanitary, the fridge leaked, the light bulbs were blown and there were some very questionable stains on the furniture. The bed was uncomfortable, the heater was broken and the shower was mouldy. We left a night early. Would NEVER recommend
