Dutchies Haven, 11 Christmas Bush Ave – Pet friendly, large enclosed yard, air con and Wi-Fi

This place is situated in a very quiet street although you are within walking distance of the centre of Nelson Bay and Dutchman's Beach. Also, the back yard is full of tall trees and bushes, so looking out you feel like you are in the middle of a forest. A very relaxing location. A big plus is that it is pet friendly. The fences are good, but it would be really nice if the gates on either side of the house could be extended in height to keep in doggies that take a liking to jumping over them.

Dutchies Haven is the perfect accomodation. Close to my favourite coffee shop and walking distance to Dutchies Bay. The rooms are spacious with all rooms having both air con and ceiling fan. Two toilets was handy for a family of five. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and plenty of cutlery and crockery. Thanks for a great stay

This is our fourth time staying at Dutchies Haven. We love the location, so close to the beach and Nelson Bay. The house is always very clean and comfortable. The back yard is great for our kelpie and she loves Bagnells Beach.

Loved the house. Well stocked. Air-conditioning great. Location well suited for a quiet holiday. The dogs loved the back yard. Maybe a stand in bathroom would help for a beauty case.

We loved it, felt like home. Great walking paths and close to Dutchies, the house was clean with a lovely garden. All bedrooms were good sizes and handy having the separate second toilet. Cons were the lounge was not comfortable and wouldn’t agree it’s a quick 5 minute walk into town.

This was our second time staying at Dutchies Haven. It is in a great location and we love that it is pet friendly- being walking distance to a dog beach is a definite bonus. There is sufficient room for us our family of 5 and the reverse cycle aircon definitely came in handy in the winter weather to warm each room up quickly. Would definitely recommend a stay here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dutchies Haven. The location was great for our holiday with our Kelpie. She loved Bagnalls Beach and the walks around the area. Stayed here with my partner, 4 adult kids and our two dogs. It was a 3 night stay and we had a lovely time. Inside the home was clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The side fences were quite low so an easy escape for most dogs that way inclined. The street is quiet and it was very convenient to the beach and the marina and CBD. We did not a few mice/rats outside and heard them on the roof at night. Reported to O’Meara’s when we returned the keys.

This place is fantastic, loved the location and the facilities in the house. We would be happy to stay again. Loved the 'vibe' of the decor and layout. I would highly recommend this property. Close to town and Duchies beach. The place was spotlessly clean.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house had a warm feeling on entering and was tastefully furnished. Just one thing for dog owners, if you have an old dog or arthritic the back stairs are steep to the lawn so would take away their freedom to come and go from inside the house. Beds were extremely comfortable and doonas and pillows spotless.

Easy to find, house in generally good condition, amazing back garden that would be great for dogs, walking distance to all relevant locations in Nelson's Bay. Bathroom is one of the highlights although odd-sized bath that is more of an over-sized shower tray. My only criticism would be that the furniture in the lounge is more like garden furniture than a proper couch you can curl up on for the night and that the house comes without many basic household items e.g bath-mat

We enjoyed our stay very much and I would recommend the property to anyone who takes their dogs on holiday.

Our stay at Dutchies Haven was one to remember. Clean and comfortable, the cottage provided an ideal base in a quiet, convenient location. The puppies enjoyed the large backyard and the long walks we could undertake right from the front door.

Excellent property but advertised as pet friendly only for small dogs, we have a medium size dog and kept escaping shame we could have had a more relaxing holiday

We had the most wonderful stay for 3 nights. Very relaxing and comfortable cottage, close access to the beach, we had many beautiful long walks to the beach and close to the shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dutchies Haven and will definitely book again to stay. Thankyou so much for providing us one of the most relaxing and fun weekends we have had in a long time. The location is great, close to the beach. House is good for families with children. The only problem with our stay was house was extremely dusty, under the beds, blinds. The oven/grill/bbq was not cleaned well, they just put clean foil over it.

House has great location but that’s about it. Very dark, very basic, oven did not work. Deck does not have any shade or covering from elements. Enclosed yard is hard to see from the deck because of the trees which does not make it kids friendly. Laundry is outside down the stairs in the basement. Lounge couches are very old and uncomfortable. Could’ve been a good house but needs a lot of updating

The house is well equipped & spacious with a large backyard. It is in a quiet location which is only a stones throw from Dutchies Beach. We had a fantastic time and will be back!
