Mattress in main bedroom is so hard and not comfortable to sleep on.

Reply 9th October 2025

Hi Stuart. Thank you for your feedback. Bed comfort is subjective and what can be seen as comfortable for one guest, may not necessarily be the same for another. We hope you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. McGrath Port Stephens

Perfect Winter Escape

Melissa | 6th September 2025

* Amazing views, waterfront grass area was great to throw down the picnic rug. * Quiet location * Large bedrooms, kitchen had everything that you needed & comfy lounge to soak in the view. * Overall, clean and tidy unit * Easy walking distance to the club and Banisters restaurants * Lovely walks along the beach and around the headland, with great coffee at the sailing club, located on the other side of the jetty * There is no air conditioning - better heaters could be supplied for winter.

Our stay in this accommodation was truly wonderful. The location was perfection. The unit was beautifully appointed. Even during several days of rain,it was still relaxing and fabulous.

Beautiful position and outlook

Lynn | 10th January 2023

The unit is in a prime position, right on the beach overlooking beautiful Soldiers Point and Port Stephens. It's ideal for families with young children. Whilst the living and dining rooms are roomy and comfortable, overall, the unit is looking quite tired could do with some updating, in particular the bedrooms and laundry. For the cost of the holiday, the value for money is average.

The Clippers 1/131 Soldiers Point Rd Review

Lynn | 7th January 2022
3.125/5

The location of this property is second to none, right on the beautiful shores of Soldiers Point with direct beach access and amazing views. It's the main reason we return each year. It's an ideal holiday location. However, the furniture, bedlinen & fittings are tired and could do with an update (exception the new outdoor table setting which was great). Granted that this is a relaxed holiday vibe, nevertheless, given the relatively high nightly rate, would benefit from some improvements.

Great Position

*BBQ unusable due to disgusting condition *window in main bedroom propped up with timber support. When removed window dropped and could easily cause injury *WI-FI ineffective and could not be used

Suited us well

Pros: Great location, parking and layout. Kitchen was well equipped. Place was pretty clean. Cons: Place felt very damp, especially main bedroom. - also, the sandwich press didn't work so will need replacing.

Quiet views

The ideal location for a quiet getaway with a view. Unfortunately the property had obviously been vacant for a period before our arrival and the external living areas were in need of a clean. The property managers were very easy to deal with

Amazing views

Amazing views and quality interior. So close to jetty for fishing. Had an ant problem but otherwise great.

Great water views

Stayed 4 nights, 3 days spent with horrid noise from workman on above unit. Poor planning by Corporate Body during school holidays. Mould on all blinds and lounges and cushion need a good clean. Very disappointing.

Beautiful Unit

Very comfortable and beautiful view, nothing to fault really, except when we booked it there was a strong sense of paint smell, we aired the unit for the day but it was ok. DVD player doesn't work.

Bad Cockroach Infestation

JFK01 | 30th December 2017
1/5

Bad Cockroach Infestation, we killed more than 50 cockroaches within 4 days. The agent did send out a pest control guy straight away, but he only sprayed outside, which didn't kill the inside ones. It was pretty disgusting to see a huge cockroach running along the edge of your bed in the middle of the night, and my daughter rolled on one in her sleep. This is the 4th time we've stayed here, and have never had this happen before. Also there was sand all thru the bunk beds.

Great place to stay. As reported to the real estate the BBQ was unfit for use. Damaged fittings, filthy and extremely old. Also, there were spider webbs and spiders in all corners of the third bedroom with bunks. A perfect setting and comfortable.

Great location

The best location in Soldiers Point. Great views and a sandy beach at the doorstep.Only one small heater worked so lucky we had one of our own as it got cold in the evenings.

great location

Clippers1 | 10th March 2016

ideal for a family holiday ,however the owner needs to do some upgrade of the inclusions . The frypans supplied have been burnt out and the Teflon surface scrapped off (health hazard). The sofa is so soiled we chose to cover it with a blanket another health hazard. The flyscreens kept falling off the windows in the wind and the Bar B Q was not clean. However all of these recommendations were registered with the Holiday letting agents by email and again on departure so hopefully all will be corrected sooner rather than later .Other than these issues it is a nice apartment and we would choose to stay in the future if these issues were in order .

Great position on the water
