The Poplars complex is very popular by having a pool and being conveniently located within a quick five minute walk to the waters edge and ten minute walk into the heart of town where you will find quality restaurants, casual bars, cafes, shops and tourist attractions such as water sports, dolphin and whale cruises.

Unit 6 is located on the top floor with spectacular views, as soon as you enter the unit you will have the sense of space with the open plan living/ dining area. The living area provides a flat screen TV, DVD, stereo, small library of DVD movies, books, board games and a ceiling fan for extra comfort.

There is a port-a-cot and highchair for the guests use and a fully equipped kitchen with full cooking facilities. The unit has two bedrooms with the main having a ceiling fan and walk in robe and the bathroom provides a bath, shower, vanity and the convenience of a separate toilet.

The laundry is located internally in the unit, it has a top loader washing machine and dryer and the unit comes with two undercover car spaces, making it very convenient to park the car and walk to all outlets.

We really loved our stay and would definitely book it again. Be aware that it doesn't have a lift and all shopping and luggage needs to be carried up the stairs. It has 2 parking spots next to each other which makes it easier to park in if you are not good in it. Very close to everything and lovely view. The tv needs to be updated since it doesn't play the HD channels. No air-conditioning, but we are used to it from home and that was fine with us. I loved the mosquito screens on all windows.

The apartment was clean and provided all we needed although a little dated. We found that the clothes dryer was not working properly - later discovered that when it stopped if you gave the drum a twirl it would start again, BUT it was very noisy. It definitely needs attention. We did not expect, or appreciate, a note from an anonymous neighbour asking us to only wash once a week!! If there is an issue with the soundproofing of the units, it needs to be addressed, not penalise the guests.

We arrived at our accomodation and found that there was no lights in the bedroom, walk in robe, passage way and half the lounge. It was very stuffy and humid ( there was no air-conditioning )so after opening all the windows and turning on all the fans we survived. Although there were a lot of DVDs the DVD player did not work- we could not even get a replacement DVD player.The oven did not work and the bathroom light was too dim to see anything. Apart from this we still managed to enjoy ourselves

Spent a great extra long weekend at the 2-bedroom apartment. It's at the top level of a 3 level complex with a lovely view of Nelson bay (from the balcony). Very close to Nelson bay town center and a 5 min stroll down the path to the tourist docks. However, quite a lot of unit are not functioning correctly (listed below) and there were cockroaches in the kitchen... Oh that garage key is incredibly hard to use (the wife wasn't able to enter/exit the garage) Best, Mark

Beautiful views. Amenities good but the couch needs updating. Not comfortable, very old and rough to sit on and the carpet needs a steam clean. Kitchen is lovely. No water pressure in shower but I could live with that as I swam at beach and rinsed hair there. Location is perfect

Pros: Stayed for 5 nights. Beautiful views of the marina, close to beach. Central location. Quiet. Lorikeets eating out of our hands at breakfast on the balcony. Cons: Outdated decor. Apartment hadn’t been aired before arrival. Dusty. Smelly carpet.
