Guided Tomaree Coastal Walking Tour
Join a NPWS ranger for a peaceful morning walk along the coast in Tomaree National Park, near Port Stephens. This beautiful stretch of coastline is known for whale watching, but it’s also a wildlife hotspot for other iconic Aussie animals.
Keep your eyes peeled for koalas, sea eagles, dolphins, fur seals and sea turtles as you walk. From May to November, fin-slapping and breaching whales can be seen from the great vantage points and updated lookouts along the coast.
Your experienced guide will give you some helpful tips for successfully spotting and identifying the park’s majestic residents. When you’re not scanning the horizon for signs of life, you can relish in the beauty of the rugged coastal landscape.
Don’t forget to bring binoculars in whale watching season and a camera to capture the jaw-dropping views. Please be prepared for all types of weather as the conditions in this area can be unpredictable and extreme.
Grading: Easy. Suitable for adults and children 10 years and over. You’ll walk for 4km on a track with some uneven ground and steps.
